PORTLAND, Ore. - Travis Blackley struck out six and gave up one run over seven strong innings and the Fresno Grizzlies limited Portland to three hits in a 4-1 victory over the Beavers before 8,446 Saturday night at PGE Park.

Brian Horwitz was 4-for-5 and former Beaver Justin Leone drove in two runs for the Grizzlies (76-66).

Blackley (10-8) retired the first 10 batters he faced and did not allow a hit until Keoni Ruth reached on a one-out single in the bottom of the fifth. The Beavers were finally able to break through with a run off Blackley with a pair of singles in the sixth.

Billy Sadler worked two scoreless innings behind Blackley to get the save.

Despite logging his eighth straight quality start with Portland (57-85), Tim Stauffer (8-5) suffered his first Triple-A loss since the all-star break, allowing three runs (2 earned) and nine hits with five strikeouts over six innings. The loss snapped a Stauffer's personal five-game winning streak with the Beavers.

Leone laced a one-out double down the left field line to plate a pair of runs in the third as Fresno took the lead.

The Grizzlies made it 3-0 in the top of the sixth when Horwitz scored from third after a two-out throwing error by Portland shortstop allowed Clay Timpner to reach.

In the bottom of the inning, Mike Epping tallied the Beavers' second hit of the game - a leadoff single - and scored on a two-out single up the middle by Jon Schemmel.

The two teams meet again Sunday in a 2:05 p.m. game at PGE Park.
