Blackhawks Recall Cam Barker from Norfolk

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS - Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that Chicago has recalled defenseman Cam Barker from Norfolk.

Cam Barker, 20, is a 6'3", 213 lb. defenseman from Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 30 games with Norfolk this season, Barker has five goals and eight assists for 13 points and 49 penalty minutes.

Barker was drafted by the Blackhawks in the first round (third overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. He made his Admirals debut on November 3 after missing the first part of the 2006-07 season recuperating from off-season ankle surgery.

Last season, Barker played in one game for the Blackhawks, going scoreless, and has yet to appear in the NHL since.

The Admirals travel to Bridgeport on Monday for an afternoon game at 1:00. The team returns to Scope on Friday, January 19 for an important East Division Showdown with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
