Week in Review:
The Waterloo Black Hawks hockey team is coming off a weekend split, and now heads West for three games in three days to wrap up play for the month of February. Waterloo saw their six game winning streak come to a halt on Friday in a loss to Lincoln, but rebounded with a win over Sioux Falls on Saturday which wrapped up a 3-1-0 home stand.
Waterloo currently sits in third place in the Eastern Division tied with the Danville Wings. The Black Hawks own the tiebreaker by virtue of having more victories. The Black Hawks have played a league low 45 games, but will make up for that in the final 32 days of the regular season by playing 15 games in that time.
It all begins this weekend when the Black Hawks make their final regular season swing West to take on teams that have playoff aspirations. The trip begins in Des Moines Thursday night as Waterloo battles the Buccaneer's. The Buc's currently are in fifth place in the West four points behind Lincoln.
The Hawks then will visit the USHL's top points team in Tri-City as they will battle the Storm. The trip then wraps up on Saturday night as the Hawks will be in Council Bluffs, Iowa to take on the River City Lancers.

Black Hawks Raise Record Amount at Tip-A-Hawk Donations go to Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
The Waterloo Black Hawks hockey team traded in their skates Monday night for note pads and serving platters as the players participated in the annual Tip-A-Hawk event at the Other Place on University Avenue.
Players waited on tables, helped in the kitchen and greeted fans throughout the evening in an effort to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. The event was a huge success as a record amount of over $1,200 was raised.
"As an organization we can't thank our fans and the Other Place enough for their support in making the event a record success," said A.J. Ligman Director of Community Relations for the Black Hawks. "It goes towards a worthwhile cause in the research of Juvenile Diabetes."
The fun filled evening was complete with children and fans taking pictures with the players and getting autographs.
