
Black Hawks Defeat Storm, Win Season Series

WATERLOO, IA - The Waterloo Black Hawks (32-21-4) got ahead early and didn't let up, defeating the Tri-City Storm (22-30-7) by a final score of 7-0 on Friday night at Young Arena.
Tri-City goaltender Justin Quale saw 46 shots and made 39 saves for the Storm in defeat.
The Black Hawks got a power play goal from Zach Stepan at 7:26 of the first period to take the lead. Waterloo would later add a shorthanded goal from Pijus Rulevicius and an even strength goal from Ian McCoshen to extend the lead to 3-0 at the end of the first.
In the second Waterloo got tallies from Blake Winiecki and Ryan Papa.
The Black Hawks scored two more times in the third. Mike Huntebrinker and Taylor Cammarata were the goal scorers in the final frame.
In the loss, Garrett Cecere, Trevor Moore and Jared Linnell each registered four shots on goal for the Storm.
Tri-City will finish up their road trip tomorrow night when they take on the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:05 p.m. The Storm will return to Kearney to once again to battle with Des Moines on Apr. 6 at 7:05 p.m.
