Black Bears Win on the Road against the Northeast Generals

ODENTON, MD - The Maryland Black Bears won against the Northeast Generals 5-2 Saturday night. The Northeast Generals scored their first and sole goal in the first period as Black Bears goalie, David Tomeo, withstood the Generals' onslaught by stopping 16 of the first 17 shots. The Generals continued the first-period trend in the second period by scoring the second goal of the game extending their lead to 2-0.

The Black Bears ended the Generals' surge on a power play goal from Forward Connor Pooley with assists from Quinn Warmuth and Luc Salem. From there, the Black Bears never looked back. This goal was the first of five unanswered strikes from the Black Bears. Forwards Daylon Mannon, Freddie Macciocchi, Marek Wazny, and Luke Mountain all joined the party with assists from Max Borst, Daylon Mannon, Cameron Teamor, Connor Pooley, and Lukas Ljungblom. The Black Bears defense shut down the Generals for the rest of the game and Tomeo totaled 29 saves by games end.

Saturday's road win makes this the second win in a row for the Black Bears. The next game for the Maryland Black Bears will be at 3:30 PM on Sunday to wrap up the two-game series against the Northeast Generals.
