The Shreveport Mudbugs (13-11-4) kept their recent hot powerplay going to guide them to a 3-1 victory over their arch rival Lone Star Brahmas Friday night at Georges Pond in Hirsch Coliseum.

The Mudbugs extended their lead in the 2nd period at 5:21 when Jay Feiwell stole a puck at center ice and raced down the ice and bombed one in for his eighth goal of the year shorthanded giving Shreveport a 2-0 edge. Lone Star came back midway through the period to get one back to make it a 2-1 Bugs lead after two periods of play. The Bugs led in SOG, 20-16.
Shreveport got the all important insurance goal in a tight affair as Feduolov was able to backhand home a juicy rebound infront at 11:49 on the PP again to give the Bugs a 3-1 lead. Jack Jaunich got the only assist on the goal.
Leo Chuard wasn't too busy, but was good when he needed to be making 19 saves to grab his tenth personal win.
