Pittsfield- The Berkshire Black Bears got 9 hits against Quebec pitching Tuesday night but could only convert those hits into 1 run as they lost to the Le' Capitals 6-1. Starting pitcher Dallas Mahan went 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, walked 3 and struck out 3. Reliever Ken Henderson came on in the 8th inning but only pitched 1/3 of an inning allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. He was replaced by new pitcher Bob Case who pitched a scoreless 9th inning.
At the plate, Scott Allen led the Black Bears going 3-4. Seven of the nine starting Black Bears had hits, with Ender Gonzalez collecting a double, Ryan Nevins singled in a run, Ryan Smith, Joe Kerrigan, Derond Stovall and Josh Perish all had singles.
The Black Bears continue the series with Quebec tomorrow night at Wahconah Park.
