The Buffalo Bisons (2-1-3) defeated the Toledo Mud Hens, 7-4, this afternoon from Winter Haven, FL.
RHP Adam Miller (1-0) earned the win in his first spring start with the Bisons. The Indians #1 prospect by Baseball America worked six innings and allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits. He also struck out three.
Last year's Eastern League Pitcher of the Year with Double-A Akron (15-6, 2.75ERA), Miller was assigned to minor league camp on Tuesday and is expected to start the season in Buffalo.
RHP J.D. Martin earned the three-inning save, striking out five while allowing one run on three hits.
INF Ryan Mulhern hit his first home run of the season (1-3, 1RBI) and INF Brandon Pinckney was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. INF Rodney Choy Foo continued his red-hot spring with two more RBI. He leads the Bisons with seven RBI in six games.
The Bisons will hold an intrasquad game tomorrow at Winter Haven, FL. The Herd takes on Toledo again on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Winter Haven.
There are just 12 days until the Bisons Home Opener against the Richmond Braves on Thursday, April 5 (3:05 p.m.) at Dunn Tire Park.
