Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Today, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Ottawa Lynx in the final game of a four-game series from Dunn Tire Park (7:05 p.m.). Trailing in the series 1-2, the Herd can earn a split with a victory tonight. Buffalo is currently 1-2 on their season-long 10-game homestand. On the mound tonight for Buffalo will be LHP Cliff Lee. The southpaw has struck out eight in each of his last two starts. The Lynx will counter with RHP Matt Childers.

FAREWELL LYNX: Tonight's match-up will mark the final appearance of the Ottawa Lynx at Dunn Tire Park. Following this season, the team is moving to Western Pennsylvania to become the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. The IronPigs will remain in the IL North division. The Bisons had an impressive .679 (55-26) winning percentage against Ottawa in Dunn Tire Park.

CLIFF'S WHIFFS: LHP Cliff Lee is winless in his last two starts, but has pitched extremely well. He fanned eight in 5.2 innings of a loss in Syracuse on July 31 (4H, 2R). Last Sunday, he allowed just one run on three hits in seven innings of a no-decision in Scranton/WB. He also struck out eight in that game. Lee hasn't allowed more than two runs in any of his three starts.

THE FRANCHISE: Ben Francisco's average continues to climb thanks to a nine-game hit streak. The outfielder is now 3rd in the IL with a .320 average. Francisco went 2-4 last night, and since August 2 has hit .368 (14-38). Francisco also stole his 19th base last night. He is looking to become just the 6th Bisons player to record back-to-back 20SB seasons in the Modern Era (first since David Roberts -1999, 2000). With 26 steals in 2006, Francisco's 45 career Bisons steals rank 7th in the Modern Era.

CHART CLIMBER: Ryan Mulhern had three singles last night and now has 124 hits on the season. That's the 4th most in the International League. Mulhern also ranks 3rd in doubles (34), 5th in extra-base hits (49) and 6th in average (.312) and slugging percentage (.505). Mulhern is tied with Andy Marte for the team-lead with 13 home runs.

ROUSE ADDED: Mike Rouse has been activated to the roster. The infielder was designed by Cleveland on Tuesday after hitting .119 (8-67) with four RBI in 41 games for Cleveland. In 2006 with Triple-A Sacramento, Rouse made just eight errors in 98 games to earn his first promotion to the Major Leagues. That year he hit .292 with two RBI in eight games with Oakland.

COMEBACK TRAILS: RHP Adam Miller threw 34 pitches in a simulated game this afternoon. He's been on the disabled list since July 25 with elbow inflammation. Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo went 0-1 for the Gulf Coast League Indians yesterday.
