The PawSox had defeated Buffalo 7 consecutive times going into Mondays' showdown in Western New York. The Bisons scored a run in the bottom of the eighth, snapping a 7-7 tie and beat Pawtucket 8-7. It was a wild game that featured a 4 run, top of the eighth for the PawSox, highlighted by a three run homer by Hector Luna. Going into the eighth, the Sox trailed 7-3. Nate Spears homered in the top of the first to give the PawSox a 1-0 lead. An RBI double by Lars Anderson in the third made it 2-2. Former PawSox infielder Luis Figueroa had a two run double in the bottom of the first. In the seventh, Jose Iglesias doubled and scored on a single by Ronald Bermudez. In the bottom of the inning, Buffalos' Valentino Pascucci belted his 15th home run of the season, a two run shot. In the eighth, Daniel Nava singled, Ryan Lavarnway did, too. Lars Anderson reached on an error by Ruben Tejada. With the bases loaded, Nava scored on a wild pitch, then Luna homered. In the bottom of the eighth, Fernando Perez tripled against newcomer Royce Ring and Perez scored on a sacrifice fly by Mike Nickeas.

Kevin Milwood started and allowed 5 runs in 5 innings. Ring, however was the loser in his PawSox debut. Monday night marked the first time the PawSox lost a game started by Millwood. They had been 10-0.

After taking 3 of 4 in Buffalo, the PawSox begin a pivotal series against Lehigh Valley, in Allentown. Game one is Tuesday night at 7:05 p.m. Tony Pena (7-4, 3.44) faces Ryan Feierabend (9-5, 5.42).
