Bisons Open Spring Exhibition Schedule with 9-8 Win over IronPigs

The Bisons opened up their 15-game Spring Training exhibition schedule with a 9-8 win over the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Tuesday afternoon from Clearwater, FL.

Buffalo collected 16 of the game's 29 hits with OF ROEMAN FIELDS going 3-5 with two runs scored and a walk. Fields made his Triple-A debut by playing in six games with the Bisons last August.

Another Bisons rookie in 2015, INF JON BERTI (Toronto's 18th round pick in 2011) homered and went 2-5 on Tuesday. INF ROWDY TELLEZ (Blue Jays' #8 prospect by MLB.com) also homered and added a double and two RBI in his 2-5 day at the plate.

On the mound, RHP CONNOR GREENE (Blue Jays' #2 prospect) started and allowed a run on three hits over two innings of work. He was credited with the win as Buffalo led 6-1 after two innings. Greene struck out one and walked one. RHP BEN ROWEN, who posted a 2.00 ERA in 14 appearances for Buffalo last season, tossed an inning of shutout relief.

NEXT SPRING GAME: Wednesday, March 16 vs. Toledo (Dunedin, FL, 1 p.m.)

BISONS HOME OPENER: The Bisons 2016 Home Opener is just 30 days away, Thursday, April 14 against the Rochester Red Wings (2:05 p.m.). Season and Ticket Packs are on sale now at Bisons.com.

The Bisons open up the season with a seven-game roadtrip, starting Thursday, April 7 in Pawtucket against the Red Sox (7:05 p.m.).

FIRST TEAM WORKOUT: The Bisons first team workout at Coca-Cola Field is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5 from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. and is open to the media (interview availability at 3:00 p.m.).

SINGLE-GAME TICKETS: All 2016 single-game tickets officially go on sale at the Coca-Cola Field Box Office on Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. However, Bisons.com is holding a special ONLINE PRE-SALE of tickets from Wednesday, March 16 (10:00 a.m.) to Friday, March 18 (midnight) during which fans will pay NO SERVICE FEES on their ticket purchases.

FAMILY DAY OPEN HOUSE: The Bisons annual Family Day Open House, presented by Inspire Dental Group, is Saturday, March 19 from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field. The event includes FREE ADMISSION, $1 Sahlen's Hot Dogs and Coca-Cola Soft Drinks and the chance for fans to have their smile on the Inspire Dental Group's digital billboard on the 190.
