Buffalo Bisons News Release
TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons open up an eight-game roadtrip with the first of four games against the Syracuse Chiefs at Alliance Bank Park (7:00 p.m.). Buffalo is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Charlotte on Sunday and a 6-2 homestand against the Knights, Yankees and Red Sox. On the mound tonight for Buffalo will be RHP Matt Ginter. He'll be up against Syracuse LHP Bill Murphy.
vs. CHIEFS: The Bisons are 0-4 against Syracuse this year as the Chiefs swept the Herd in a set at Dunn Tire Park, April 15-18. Three of the games were decided by two runs. Buffalo has lost just one season-series to Syracuse in the last eight years (2003, 6-10).
HAVE YOU HERR'D: Infielder Aaron Herr had a hit in both games yesterday. He has now hit in 17 of 20 games with a .329 (24-73) average. Herr has also driven in 16 runs in his last 18 games. He leads the team with a .283 batting average and 19RBI.
GREAT START: Infielder Michael Aubrey has driven in a run in each of his first two Triple-A games. The former 1st round pick (2003) had a two-run double on Friday and an RBI-single to score Buffalo's first run in the first game of yesterday's doubleheader. Aubrey had 16RBI in the first month of the season with Double-A Akron.
BISONS BITS: Jason Tyner has a five-game hit streak over which he has hit .400 (6-15)...RHP Rick Bauer has pitched scoreless baseball in 11 of his 12 outings. His 6 saves are T3rd most in the International League....Buffalo's team ERA has fallen to 3.99. It's the 7th lowest mark in the IL...Wyatt Toregas has 5RBI in his last 4 games.
