Richmond, VA- The Richmond Braves beat the Indianapolis Indians 3-2 Monday at The Diamond. The Braves rallied from an early deficit for the fourth straight game to push their winning streak to four games.
The Indians took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when a throwing error on a double steal allowed Kevin Thompson to score. The Braves grabbed the lead in the third on an RBI double by Brandon Jones and a run producing single by Scott Thorman. The Indians tied the game in the sixth on an RBI single by Michel Hernandez. The Braves scored the winning run in the seventh. Josh Anderson's two-out single cashed in a leadoff double by Clint Sammons.
Chuck James allowed one earned run in seven innings to collect the win. Andrew Shibilo notched a save. Ty Taubenheim took the loss. Sammons and Omar Infante had two hits each for the Braves. Hernandez had three hits for the Indians.
The Braves continue a four game series vs. the Indians Tuesday at The Diamond at 7 PM. Damian Moss will pitch for Richmond against Luis Munoz.
