TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Ottawa Lynx in the first game of a three-game set from Lynx Stadium (6:05 p.m.). This is the second consecutive weekend the Bisons and Lynx have squared off. The Herd took three of four games from Ottawa in a three-day series, May 13-15, back at Dunn Tire Park. Dating back to last season, Buffalo has won six of their last seven and 13 of their last 17 against the Lynx.

DUEL PART TWO: Top prospects Jeremy Sowers and Hayden Penn will meet for the second time in five days. On Monday in Buffalo, Sowers bested Penn by pitching into the 9th inning of a 3-1 Bisons victory. Sowers allowed just one run on six hits in his outing, while Penn struck out six but allowed three runs on seven hits in five innings to the Herd.
STEADY SOWERS: As good as he's been in 2006, Jeremy Sowers may be coming off his best start of the year. Sowers worked into the 9th inning last Monday against Ottawa for the first time in his career. The southpaw is currently second in the IL with 45.0 innings pitched and fourth with a 1.40ERA. He has allowed more than one earned run only once in 7 starts this year.
FAMILIAR GROUND: Starter Jeremy Sowers made his Triple-A debut at Lynx Stadium. On September 2, 2005, Sowers made a spot start for the Herd and defeated Ottawa, 8-2. He allowed one run on seven hits in 5.1 innings to earn the win.
LOOOUUU: Infielder Lou Merloni is currently 10th in the International League in hitting with a .314 batting average. He is also tops on the Bisons roster with 11 doubles and is second in slugging percentage (.505) and on-base percentage (.390).
FIRST HOMER : Infielder Andy Marte picked up his first Bisons' home run last night with a two-run blast to left field. Marte hit 20 home runs in 2005 for Richmond and was ranked the #9 best prospect in the Minor Leagues by Baseball America.
ROSTER MOVES: The Bisons had a roster move after their game against Rochester last night. Pitcher Fausto Carmona was called up for this second stint with the trip. Carmona has been with the Herd twice this year, making two starts in each stint (0-3, 4.84ERA). Early this year, he went 1-2 with a 7.94ERA in three starts with the Tribe.
