Gwinnett Stripers News Release
Rome, GA - Once again it was timely hitting and great pitching as the Rome Braves defeated the Charleston RiverDogs 4-3 Saturday night at State Mutual Stadium before 5,105 fans.
Charleston got on the board in the second inning as C.J. Henry hit a solo home run to centerfield (2) to give the RiverDogs the lead 1-0. Rome bounced back in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead 4-1 highlighted by an Elvis Andrus three run double to right field.
Charleston added single runs in the fifth and ninth innings to close the gap to 4-3 but it was too little too late as Rome held on for the victory 4-3.
