Tonight's Game

Tonight, the Bisons host the Rochester Red Wings in a doubleheader at Coca-Cola Field (Game 1: 5:35 p.m.). The Herd has played in four doubleheaders already this season posting two splits while being swept twice for a record of 2-6. Buffalo has won three straight games.

The Thruway Cup

The Bisons are now 3-0 against the Red Wings with last night's 5-3 win. Buffalo (6-5) is now just a half game behind Syracuse (9-7) for 1st place in the Thruway Cup Standings. Rochester (4-7) is now 2.5 games behind the leader. Tonight's contest is the second and third of a five-game in four-day series between the Bisons and the Red Wings.

Deck McGuire

RHP DECK MCGUIRE will make his fifth start in game one tonight. The righty suffered his first defeat of 2014 last Monday in Columbus. In the outing, he threw 3.1 innings and allowed five earned runs on six hits, fanning four batters. McGuire has been sharp at Coca-Cola Field this season with a 1.90 ERA in two starts at home.

Raul Valdes

LHP RAUL VALDES makes his first Bisons start of the year in game two. The southpaw has worked in relief eight times for Buffalo, including a victory with one shutout inning on June 6 against Toledo. Valdes made seven starts with the Bisons in 2010 and was 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in 26.1 innings of work (8 BB, 22 SO).

Anthony Gose

OF ANTHONY GOSE has been added to the roster after being optioned by Toronto on Wednesday. Gose appeared in 31 games for the Blue Jays from May 16-June 17, hitting .225 (18-80) with two doubles, a triple, eight runs, two RBI and two stolen bases.

Bully for the Pen

The Bisons bullpen has allowed just two hits in its last 12.0 innings of work. During that three-game span, the relievers have struck out 10 and walked just four. The pen has accounted for a win and three saves during the current three-game win streak.

Bisons Bits

INF JONATHAN DIAZ matched a Bisons season-high with four RBI last night, hitting a three-run home run (his first of the season) and drawing a bases-loaded walk...OF DARIN MASTROIANNI extended his current hit streak to eight games (11-34, .324).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (42-33) put together a 14-9 comeback victory last night in Cincinnati. Edwin Encarnacion hit two three-run home runs to help erase an 8-0 deficit. The Jays and Reds are back at it again today from the Great American Ballpark. First pitch is set for 4:10 p.m.
