Today's Game:

vs. the Bats

The Bisons need a win today or the club will suffer just their second home series loss to the Bats since the Herd returned to the IL in 1998. Since then, the Bisons have 8 series wins and six splits against Louisville at Coca-Cola Field. The lone defeat was a four-game sweep by the Bats, July 10-13, 2008.

On the Hill

RHP RAMON ORTIZ makes his fourth appearance of the year today. The veteran allowed a run in 2.2 innings of a relief outing on April 30 in Rochester. Opponents are hitting just .178 against Ortiz this season. The righty has yet to give up a hit with runners in scoring position in 2013 with opponents 0-15 with a pair of walks in the situation.

Nail Biters

Each of the last seven Bisons games have been decided by three runs or less including four one-run contests. So far this year, the Bisons are 5-3 in one-run games and 2-0 in two-run contests. Buffalo has outscored their opponents, 44-14, from the seventh inning on.

Roster Moves

RHP JUSTIN GERMANO has been activated to the Bisons today after being outrighted to Buffalo from Toronto. The righty is 3-1 this season in four starts with the Herd. RHP CLAUDIO VARGAS was placed on the temporary inactive list. RHP BUDDY CARLYLE has been activated off the DL and RHP CLINT EVERTS has been placed on the DL.

Bisons Bits

OF ANTHONY GOSE (22) has scored three more than any other player in the IL...INF LUIS JIMENEZ has hit in 14 of his last 15 games with a .433 average (26-60) since April 17(2). That's the highest mark in the IL over that time...RHP NEIL WAGNER has allowed just two hits in his last eight appearances (8.0 IP, 12 SO).

Toronto (10-21) lost to the Mariners by an 8-1 score on Saturday. RHP R.A. DICKEY suffered the loss for the Blue Jays. RHP EDWIN ENCARNACION had a pair of hits in the defeat. The Blue Jays will host the Mariners at Rogers Centre today at 1:07 p.m.
