Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the third game of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (6:05 p.m.). The Bisons were swept in last night's doubleheader and have now lost four straight games for only the second time this season. Buffalo returns home on Monday to open up a series with Gwinnett.

vs. the PawSox

The Bisons are now 3-3 against the PawSox this season. The home team has won five of the six contests in the match-up. Last season, the road team won 11 of the 16 games as the Bisons went 5-3 at McCoy Stadium.

Today's Starter

RHP THAD WEBER makes his second start and fifth appearance with the Bisons today. The veteran worked 1.2 innings in relief on Tuesday in Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and yielded a run on two hits. Weber's other start with Buffalo came June 4 against Lehigh Valley. He allowed three runs in four innings in his lone defeat of 2013.

That's why they are designated hitters

The Bisons have gotten great production from their DH spot this season. A group of eight hitters have combined to hit .308 with 17 home runs and 46 RBI. INF LUIS JIMENEZ and INF MAURO GOMEZ have made 49 of the 66 starts at designated hitter. Jimenez has hit .345 with five homers and 19 RBI while Gomez has averaged .260 with nine home runs and 17 RBI.

Mauro Hits it Far-O

INF MAURO GOMEZ leads the International League with 17 home runs this season. The slugger has hit 10 homers since May 26, three more than any other hitter at Triple-A. Gomez also has 20 RBI in the 17 games over that span, the third most in the IL in that span.

Stil getting it done

RHP JOHN STILSON has allowed just one run in eight outings and 11.2 innings with the Bisons. The righty has not given up more than one hit in any appearance, holding opponents to a .108 average against. Opponents are also hitless in 11 at-bats with runners in scoring position.

Bisons Bits

INF JIM NEGRYCH (.348) is the top left-handed hitter in the IL...Last night's Game 2 defeat was the Bisons first in extra-innings this season. The five-run lead was also the biggest advantage the Herd lost in a defeat this season.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (30-36) blew out the Rangers on Friday night, 8-0. LHP MARK BUEHRLE struck out seven over seven shutout innings. OF COLBY RASMUS added a three-run homer in the win, his 11th of the season. The Blue Jays look for their fourth straight win today in Texas (4:05 p.m.)
