Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in the third game of a four-game series from Coca-Cola Park (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo has won four straight games and 10 of their last 11 contests since a doubleheader sweep over Pawtucket on April 15. At 11-4, the Bisons hold the best record in the International League.

vs. the IronPigs

The Bisons are 6-0 against the IronPigs this year, having outscored Lehigh Valley 35-14 this season. The Herd is hitting .330 as a team off IronPig pitching with more walks (37) than strikeouts (33). Dating back to 2014, the Bisons have won 14 of their last 15 against the Pigs.

Rob Rasmussen

LHP ROB RASMUSSEN will make a spot start today, his first career Bisons start. The southpaw pitched in relief in all 45 of his outings between Buffalo and Toronto last year. However, Rasmussen started 77 of his first career 88 professional appearances, including a 12-win campaign for Single-A Jupiter in the Marlins chain in 2011.

Matt Hague

INF MATT HAGUE set a new Bisons modern era record by reaching base in 10 straight plate appearances to start this series. He was 3-3 with three walks on Thursday night and was 3-3 with a walk to start his night on Friday. Hague's .500 on-base pct. is 29 points better than any other hitter in the IL. His .396 average is also 2nd in the circuit.

D-Fence!

The Bisons have played eight consecutive errorless games. The last time the Herd made a miscue in the field was an Andrew Albers' throwing error on a pickoff attempt on April 15(2) against Pawtucket, 78.0 innings ago. Buffalo's .991 fielding pct. is tops in the IL.

Good At-Bats

The Bisons have struck out (89) only 18 more times than they have walked (71) this year. The 71 walks are an IL-best, giving the team a .366 on-base pct. that is 27 points higher than the next closest team. The Herd's batting average (.268) has improved 35 points in three days.

Bisons Bits

The Bisons' 2.21 ERA is almost a half a run better than the next best team in the IL (Indianapolis, 2.70)...INF CHRIS COLABELLO and OF EZEQUIEL CARRERA are two of the four batters in the IL with 11 runs scored this year...Carrera has produced three straight multi-hit performances, with eight hits in his last 14 at-bats (.571).

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (9-8) fell to the Rays on Friday, 12-3, in Tampa Bay. Toronto got home runs from Devon Travis and Justin Smoak in the loss. Toronto takes on Tampa Bay again tonight at 6:10 p.m.
