Today's Game
This evening, the Bisons play the final game of their three-game series with the Toledo Mud Hens. The Herd will round out this week's six-game road trip with a three-game set against the Clippers in Columbus before an off day next Monday.
Last Game: BUF 7, TOL 2
The Bisons used three home runs to help power their way to a 7-2 win against Toledo during Wednesday night's game. Andy Burns hit a two-run homer in the fifth followed right after by a Michael De La Cruz home run giving Buffalo the lead. Anthony Alford belted a three-run homer in the sixth to secure the lead for the Bisons.
Toledo Mud Hens (1-1)
Buffalo and Toledo are meeting for the first of two series in the 2019 season. The two teams were evenly split at three games each after winnings a series a piece in 2018. The teams will meet
for the second, and final time the season in Buffalo 8/13-8/15.
Today's Starter
RHP T.J. Zeuch takes the mound for Buffalo in his ninth start of the season. Zeuch currently carries a 3-1 record and a 4.93 ERA. His last start came against Syraucse where he went 6.0 IP reciving his sixth straight team win in a start. He allowed only 6 hits in his last start and also received the win.
Anthony Alford
OF Anthony Alford contributed to the Herd's offense in last night's game by belting a three-run home run in his first game back from spending over a month on the IL. Alford went 1-4, with one run, his homer, and 3 RBI. He is currently carrying a .255 AVG with 6 HR and 34 RBI.
Michael De La Cruz
C Michael De La Cruz added to the sucessful fifth inning last night with a home run in the fifth. His solo homer came directly after an Andy Burns two-run home run to contribute to the Herd's sixth back-to-back set of the season. De La Cruz helped give Buffalo the 4-1 lead at the end of the fifth.
Andy Burns
INF Andy Burns crushed the first home run for Buffalo yesterday, leading to the sixth back-to-back home run set of the year for the Herd. Burns went 1-4 on the night driving in a run, a home run, and 2 RBI. The infielder is now hitting .286 overall on the season with 12 HR and 46 RBI after being named International League Batter of the Week for the week of 7/29-8/4.
Blue Jays
Toronto (47-70) topped Tampa Bay 4-3 to win their first series in Tampa since the 2017 season. RHP Brock Stewart recicieved his first win while allowing just two hits over four scorelsss innings in his debut for Toronto. SS Bo Bichette also extended his career-opening hit streak to 10 games, which breaks his own franchise record that he had set the day before. The Blue Jays head back home tonight to face the New York Yankees for a four game series with a scheduled 7:07 p.m. first pitch at the Rodgers Centre.
