Today's Game

This evening, the Bisons begin a three-game series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders at PNC Feld (6:35 p.m.). Today marks the first game in the season series between the Herd and RailRiders. The two teams will meet 16 times in 2018 overall. Buffalo will return home on Thursday for seven games against Syracuse and Rochester.

Last Game: BUF 2, PAW 0

RHP Deck McGuire struck out nine batters over 5.0IP without allowing a win, while C Danny Jansen belted a solo home run in the second inning off of William Cuevas in the win. The Pawtucket Red Sox were held to just two hits in the series finale as well.

Today's Starter: RHP Chris Rowley

RHP Chris Rowley is 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA in two starts this year. He allowed two runs over four innings pitched in his last start on April 24 at Durham. Rowley suffered the defeat against the Bulls, allowing six hits as well. The right handers win came on April 13 vs. Indianapolis where he worked five scoreless innings.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (0-0)

The Bisons and RailRiders are meeting for the first time in 2018. This is the first of six total series between the IL North opponents, with each team hosting the other eight times this year. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre makes their first appearance at Coca-Cola Field May 18-20 for three games.

Tim Lopes

Sunday was the first time in 12 games that INF Tim Lopes failed to collect a base hit. The Triple-A rookie has 18 hits to start the season, five more than any other Bisons' hitter currently. Lopes .409 batting average continues to lead the International League, 36 points higher than Alejandro De Aza of the Syracuse Chiefs.

Dalton Pompey

OF Dalton Pompey did not reach base on Sunday for the first time in eight games with the Herd. However, the 25 year-old added an RBI on a sacrifice fly to help the team defeat Pawtucket. The Mississauga, Ontario native has appeared in 12 total games this season between Buffalo and Dunedin (Adv-A), hitting a combined .313. Pompey is 4 for 4 in stolen base opportunities with the Bisons so far.

Danny Jansen

C Danny Jansen had two more hits on Sunday, including a solo home run that put the Bisons in front of Pawtucket. Jansen had a hit in each of the three games against the PawSox over the weekend, with four hits total to increase his batting average to .310 for the season. The backstop his .328 in 21 games with the Herd last season.

Bisons Bits

LHP Sam Moll has not issued a walk in his five appearances this season. Moll has worked 7.2IP for Buffalo...The Herd has scored 62 runs this year, 20 of which have come in the sixth inning. Buffalo has scored just two combined runs in the first two innings all year.

Transactions

OF Ian Parmley was added to the roster on Sunday, while RHP Carlos Ramirez was recalled to Toronto. Also, INF Danny Espinosa was released.

Blue Jays Update

Toronto (15-12) salvaged the finale against the Texas Rangers with a 7-2 win on Sunday. LHP J.A. Happ won his fourth game of the year. The Blue Jays begin a three-game series in Minnesota on Monday (8:10 p.m.).
