
Undone: Errors doom RailRiders in 6-2 loss

MOOSIC, Pa. - The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders committed a season-high four errors and fell 6-2 to the Buffalo Bisons on Monday night at PNC Field. The loss was Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre's fourth in a row.
Buffalo grabbed the lead in the top of the second when Anthony Alford reached on an error and scored on a Darnell Sweeney double. Two batters later, Tim Lopes plated Alford with a single to extend the Bisons advantage to 2-0.
The RailRiders answered back in the bottom of the second with a two-out rally. Billy Fleming worked a walk ahead of a Cody Asche single against Chris Rowley. Tyler Wade then drove a double into the right field corner to plate Fleming and narrow the gap to 2-1.
The Bisons scored a pair of unearned runs in the fourth on a two-run single by Danny Jansen and tacked on another tally on a Jason Leblebijian home run in the sixth.
All runs were charged against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Josh Rogers, who allowed five runs (two earned) on seven hits in six innings, walking two and striking out four. The southpaw registered his third quality start in his last four outings.
In the top of the seventh, Buffalo added another run on an RBI double from Reese McGuire off J.P. Feyereisen to expand its lead to 6-1. Joe Harvey and Cale Coshow finished out the night on the mound for the RailRiders, each contributing a scoreless inning of relief.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre chipped away in the bottom of the eighth, loading the bases on a hit batsman and two walks. Zack Zehner worked the count full against Sam Moll before drawing a walk, driving in a run to inch closer at 6-2.
Moll remained in the game to throw a scoreless ninth inning to finish the contest and earn his first save of the season. Rogers (2-2) was tagged with the loss, while Rowley (2-1) was credited with the victory.
The RailRiders continue their series with the Bisons on Tuesday night at PNC Field. First pitch is scheduled 6:35 p.m. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre sends LHP Daniel Camarena (0-1, 6.35) to the bump, while Buffalo counters with LHP Ryan Borucki (1-2, 4.30).
