ALLENTOWN, PA - The Buffalo Bisons defeated the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 3-2 in the penultimate game of this six-game series on Saturday night from Coca-Cola Park. They have now won four of five against the Pigs in this set.

Derek Holland began what was a bullpen night for the Herd and went two clean innings before giving way to Tayler Saucedo, who made his first rehab outing with the Herd as he works his way back from a right hip injury that put him on the IL back on April 30.

Saucedo had a 1-2-3 inning of work and was followed by Gabriel Ponce, who was recently promoted from Double-A New Hampshire after throwing to a 2.12 ERA over 29.2 innings with the Fisher Cats. Ponce did run into a bit of trouble and gave up a pair of unearned runs in the fourth.

On the offensive side, Zack Collins drove home Nathan Lukes on a sac fly in the third, Cullen Large had an RBI single in the fifth, and Chavez Young scored in the sixth after stealing second and third before he came home when the throw escaped the third baseman's glove.

The Herd did have many more chances to score, however, but they stranded the bases loaded with zero outs in the second, and again in the third with just one out; they ultimately stranded 12 runners on base.

Shaun Anderson then came on to start the seventh and went on to throw three strong innings of high-leverage relief, allowing just one hit while striking out five to lock up the win with a nine-out save.

The Bisons and Pigs will conclude their series tomorrow afternoon with first pitch set for 1:35 p.m. EST. Mike Ellenbest will get the start for the Herd.
