Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons today announced that INF MIKE JACOBS has been added to the team's active roster.
Jacobs, 29, began the season with the Mets but was designated for assignment on April 18. With New York, Jacobs hit .208 (5-24) with a home run, two RBI and three walks in seven games. He reached base safely in all but one of his games with the Mets.
Jacobs signed a minor league deal with the Mets on February 10 and made the big league club out of spring training. Last season, Jacobs hit 19 home runs and drove in 61 runs in 128 games with the Kansas City Royals. In 2008, he set career highs with 32 home runs and 93RBI while playing 141 games with the Florida Marlins.
Jacobs was originally drafted by the Mets in the 38th round of the 1999 draft and made his major league debut playing 30 games with New York in 2005. In that first stint with the Mets, Jacobs hit .310 (31-100) with 11 home runs and 23RBI.
