Bisons Activate Bronze-Medal Olympian, RHP Jeff Stevens

The Buffalo Bisons announced today that they have activated USA Olympian and Bronze Medal Winner RHP Jeff Stevens for their game in Pawtucket. C Yamid Haad has also returned to the team and has been activated off the temporary inactive list.

In other roster moves, C Victor Martinez has finished his injury rehab assignment with the team and has been activated to the Cleveland Indians. C Armando Camacaro has been placed on the disabled list.

Stevens was placed on the temporary inactive list on July 27 so he could join Team USA for the Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. Team USA won the bronze medal with an 8-4 win over Japan in the medal round. Stevens pitched two shutout innings and earned the victory on August 20 against Japan in the final game of pool play. That victory got Team USA into the medal round.

Overall, Stevens was 1-2 with a 9.00ERA in four Olympic Games. With the Bisons, Stevens is 0-2 with a 4.00ERA in 17 relief appearances. He has struck out 38 batters and allowed just 17 hits in 27.0 innings of work.

Haad was placed on the temporary inactive list on August 19 to attend to family matters. He's hit .165 (17-103) with a home run and six RBI in 39 games with Buffalo.

Martinez hit .300 (6-20) with two doubles, two RBI and four walks in six games with the Bisons. Camacaro hit .111 (2-18) in eight games with Buffalo.
