
Biscuits Win Another Close Shave

Greenville, SC -- For a second straight night at Municipal Stadium, the Montgomery Biscuits made it interesting in the ninth. Designated hitter Brayan Pena hit his second home run of the game to lead off the ninth but fell one run short as Montgomery won, 6-5.
The Biscuits rapped out 16 hits, including four by Juan Salas and three by Amado German, Brian Martin and Fernando Cortez. Montgomery also set all-time highs with 13 left on base and four stolen bases as the Biscuits won their first-ever road series.
Montgomery starter Chris Seddon allowed four runs in five innings.
Thirteen of the Biscuits' 16 hits were singles. The only three extra-base hits were doubles by Cortez. Joey Gathright extended his on-base streak to 11 games.
The Biscuits open a four-game series in Chattanooga on Saturday at 6:15 p.m.
