Montgomery Biscuits News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Biscuits launched four home runs for just the second time this season and pummeled the Mobile BayBears on Thursday night, 12-1, at Riverwalk Stadium.

Each of the four home runs was a two-run shot as the Biscuits got long-balls from Willy Adames, Patrick Leonard, Jake Bauers, and Alec Sole. Surprisingly, the Biscuits actually trailed in the game at one point as well after Dawel Lugo took Montgomery starter Chase Whitley over the center field wall in the second inning. However, Whitley would finish his third rehab start for the club by going five innings of one-run, one-hit ball on his way to his first Biscuit win.

Down 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, the Biscuits got a two-out, two-run triple from Justin Williams to put them in the lead for good. An inning later, an RBI-groundout by Granden Goetzman set the stage for Adames' two-run homer and Leonard's bomb in the same frame, as the Biscuits batted around.

Bauers would launch his team-leading 12th home run of the season in the sixth inning over the right field wall, before Sole, making his Double-A debut, went deep over the left field wall in the seventh. The Biscuits would get a sacrifice fly from Williams in the eighth as icing on the cake, as Taylor Guerrieri and Whitley combined for a two-hit victory.

The Biscuits will try to make it six wins in their last seven games on Friday when Chih-Wei Hu (4-8) takes on Billy Buckner (4-5) at 7:05 PM when it will be Eat-A-Palooza Night at Riverwalk.
