BIRMINGHAM, AL -- The Birmingham Barons jumped out to an early lead but dropped the series opener to the Chattanooga Lookouts by a 7-1 score at Regions Field.

Brandon Brennan tossed two innings in relief, giving up two earned runs on two hits while surrendering one walk and recording one punch out.

Southpaw Brian Clark closed the game with an inning out of the bullpen, allowing one hit while registering one strikeout.

Stephen Gonsalves became the second pitcher to toss a complete game against the Barons this season, allowing just three hits across 101 pitches.

Blair Walters starts the second game of the series tomorrow evening at Regions Field. The California native is 2-2 with a 2.66 ERA in eight starts at home this season.
