
Biscuits Suffer Third-Straight Loss

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- The Biscuits (10-13) committed three errors that led to 6 unearned runs in an 11-3 loss to the Birmingham Barons (12-11) Friday night at Riverwalk Stadium.
The score was tied at two heading into the third inning. After a costly error on a potential double-play ball, Jose Martinez knocked an RBI-single to centerfield to give the Barons the lead 3-2. After gaining the lead, Birmingham never looked back scoring 3 runs in the fourth inning, two runs in the fifth and a combined three runs in the final two innings.
The Barons quickly took a 2-0 lead after the top half of the first. The Biscuits came back in the bottom of the inning to tie the game with an Omar Luna triple that scored two runs.
Luna finished the game 2-4 with 2 RBI. Cole Figueroa went 1-3 with a HR and 2 runs scored extending his on-base streak to 23 games.
Game four of the series will be Saturday night at 7:05. The Biscuits will start LHP Kyle Lobstein (1-2, 3.98) while the Barons will send RHP Simon Castro (1-1, 3.75) to the mound.
