Mobile BayBears News Release

Chattanooga, TN - The Mobile BayBears late inning offense, coupled with a strong pitching performance, amounted to a 4-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts at AT&T Field Friday night. Right-hander Derek Eitel turned in his best performance of 2012. Eitel threw seven complete innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits. The BayBears backed Eitel's strong outing with three combined runs in the seventh and eighth innings.

Mobile scored first in the fourth inning to take an early 1-0 lead when Marc Krauss drove in Wladimir Sutil on a fly out to left. The Lookouts took the lead, posting two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Krauss repeated his recent offensive outburst with a one-out triple in the seventh inning. Krauss would score and tie the game at two when Alfredo Marte poked a single to left field. The BayBears reclaimed the lead in the seventh inning when Brent Clevlen came through with two-run single to left that put the BayBears on top 4-2.

Mobile handed their 4-2 lead to right-hand reliever Yonata Ortega, who struck out three and allowed just one hit over the final two innings. Ortega picked up his first save of the season. Righty Blake Johnson was credited with the loss. He allowed the winning two runs to score, although neither of them were earned. Lookout starting right-hander Ethan Martin settled for a no decision after giving up just two earned runs over seven innings.

Mobile and Chattanooga will play game four of the series on Saturday, April 27 at 6:15 PM. RHP Chase Anderson gets the nod for Mobile.
