For the second night in a row, the Stars got a strong performance by a starting pitcher to lead them to a victory, beating the Mississippi Braves by a score of 7-4 on Friday. This time, it was RHP Evan Anundsen, who pitched 6.0 innings of one-run baseball to improve to 1-1 on the season. On offense, the Stars broke out for seven runs and 11 hits after hitting .180 combined as a team over the previous five. Catcher Jason Jaramillo and third basemen Andy Gonzalez each had two hits and 3 RBI's apiece and center fielder Josh Prince added his first home run of the season.
Game four of a five-game series will take place on Saturday as the Stars will send out RHP Kyle Heckathorn (1-0, 3.47 ERA) to square off against Braves RHP David Hale (2-2, 5.75 ERA).
