MOBILE, Ala. - The Biscuits (76-60) entered their series against the Mobile BayBears (65-67) with an 0-45 record in games in which they trailed after eight innings, but that changed on Thursday night, as Montgomery rallied from three runs down, including two in the ninth, to win the series opener, 8-7 in 10 innings, at Hank Aaron Stadium.

J.D. Martin, who was coming off of his first win at Riverwalk Stadium this season, was on the mound for the Biscuits, who provided the knuckleballer with an early 1-0 lead on a Brett Sullivan RBI-fielder's choice in the first. A Riley Unroe RBI-single tied things up for Mobile in the second, before a Jesus Sanchez RBI-groundout put the Biscuits back in front, 2-1, in the third.

Martin cruised into the fifth up 2-1, but then a Zach Houchins three-run blast over the left field wall put the BayBears on top, 4-2. Mitch Spires added a sac fly for Mobile in the sixth, and then Miles Mastrobuoni started the Biscuits comeback with an RBI-single in the eighth.

Up 5-3, the BayBears then turned to Dario Beltre in the ninth. The right-hander walked Jake Cronenworth to begin the ninth, and then after getting Dalton Kelly to fly out, walked Nick Solak as well. After a wild pitch, with runners at second and third, Sullivan then ripped a game-tying two-run single into right to knot things at five.

Matt Custred (3-5) came in in the top of the 10th and with a runner on second, walked Mastrobuoni. David Rodriguez then stepped up and crushed a three-run home run deep into the night over the left field fence to give the Biscuits their sixth unanswered run and an 8-5 lead.

After Mike Broadway tossed two scoreless innings of relief, Yoel Espinal was summoned from the bullpen, and despite allowing a two-run home run to Brendon Sanger to make it a one-run game, still managed to earn his 10th save.

The Biscuits 76 wins this season are tied for the third-most in team history with both the 2017 and 2016 Biscuit teams that each finished 76-64. Montgomery will go for number 77 on Friday night when Brock Burke (6-1) takes on Joe Gatto (3-4) at 7:05 PM CT.

Once the regular season ends on Monday, the Biscuits will have an off-day on Tuesday, and will then head to Jackson, Tennessee to take on the Jackson Generals in Games 1 and 2 of the North Division Series next Wednesday, September 5 and Thursday, September 6, before returning to Riverwalk Stadium for Game 3 on Friday, September 7.
