JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Reid Brignac and Evan Longoria hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning of the the Montgomery Biscuits' 12-5 win over the Jacksonville Suns at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville Friday night.

The game was attended by 12,125, the largest crowd ever to see a Biscuits game.

Montgomery piled up 13 hits and took a 4-0 lead before Suns pitcher Justin Orenduff registered a single out. Orenduff (1-0) wriggled off the hook, though, when the Suns scored a run in the bottom of the inning and three in the third. Jacksonville second baseman Luis Maza knocked in a run in each of those innings, collecting the first two hits in his 5-for-5 night.

The BIscuits blew it open in the sixth inning against Alabama native Wesley Wright (0-1), who had come in to start the fourth inning. Montgomery plated six runs in the inning on four hits and four walks. The inning included a two-run single by Jason Pridie, RBI hits by Longoria and John Jaso and a Brignac sacrifice fly.

The BIscuits added insurance runs in the eighth and ninth.

Leadoff man Fernando Perez knocked in a run on a double. He also walked three times and stole three bases. He leads the Southern League in both.

The beneficiary of the Biscuits' offense was Chris Seddon (2-1), who pitched six innings. He allowed eight hits and four runs but got out of a jam with a tie score in the fifth inning when Cory Dunlap hit a one-out, bases-loaded scorcher back to the mound. Seddon caught the liner and threw to third to double off Chin-Lung Hu and end the inning.

The Biscuits have won eight straight games at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

Game two of the series is Saturday at 6:05 p.m. CST. Biscuits righty Derek Feldkamp is on the hill.
