Biscuits Post Two Shutouts in Doubleheader Sweep of Pensacola

MONTGOMERY, AL - The Montgomery Biscuits (6-2) posted two shutouts in a doubleheader sweep of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (3-5) and extended their winning streak to six games on Saturday evening at Riverwalk Stadium.
Game One
Ian Seymour spun five shutout innings and struck out eight, allowing just two hits and a walk in his first win of the season.
In the second, Heriberto Hernandez doubled into the left-field corner to score Willy Vasquez all the way from first base for the first run of the game. Vasquez slid in just ahead of the relay throw to the plate.
In the third, the Biscuits tallied another on an RBI single from Carson Williams after Nick Schnell led off with a double.
Antonio Jimenez pitched two shutout innings and struck out a pair for his first save of the season.
Game Two
The Biscuits jumped in front two batters into the bottom of the first. Dru Baker singled to leadoff and then scored on a Kenny Piper double. Hernandez brought in Piper with a sacrifice fly to center to make it 2-0.
In his second start, Brendan McKay again went three scoreless innings. He gave up two hits and no walks with three strikeouts. He threw 29 strikes on 35 pitches.
Montgomery scored four runs in the third to make it 6-0. The inning consisted of two hits, three straight walks, and an error that led to a run.
Jeff Belge and Keyshawn Askew each contributed a pair of scoreless innings to close the second shutout of the day.
The series finale is Sunday afternoon at Riverwalk Stadium. Ben Peoples will make the start for Montgomery while Paul Campbell will start for Pensacola. The first pitch is at 3:33 pm CT. Fans can listen on Sports Radio 740, MiLB First Pitch App, and Bally Live.
