
Biscuits Lose in Extras, Drop Sixth-Straight

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Biscuits (1-6) dropped their sixth-straight game as the Jacksonville Suns (5-1) walked off with a double from Sharif Othman in the tenth inning in a 3-2 loss for Montgomery Thursday night at the Baseball Grounds.
The Biscuits went into the bottom of the eighth inning leading 2-1. With runners on first and second, Carlos Lopez hit a groundball off of Richie Shaffer's hip at third that allowed the tying run to score. Mark Sappington walked three in the bottom of the ninth inning, but got Viosergy Rosa to fly out to force extra innings. In the tenth, Lopez and Justin Bohn hit back-to-back singles to set up Othman's walk off.
Austin Pruitt went seven strong innings for the Biscuits in a no-decision. He struck out seven and scattered six hits with only two walks.
With the Suns leading 1-0 in the seventh, Tyler Goeddel led off the frame with his first home run in Double-A - a solo shot - to tie the game. The Biscuits took the lead in the eighth with an RBI-groundout from Patrick Leonard that plated Daniel Robertson.
The Biscuits will play the middle-game of the series with the Suns on Friday night at 6:05 CT. RH Jared Mortensen will throw for Montgomery against RH Kendrys Flores for Jacksonville.
