Lamm activated, Mateo to the DL

PEARL, MS -- Mississippi Braves RHP Mark Lamm has been activated off the disabled list. RHP Victor Mateo has been plated on the disabled list with a right thumb contusion retroactive to April 13.

Lamm, 27, began the season on the disabled list at Double-A Mississippi. Last season, Lamm went 1-3 with a 5.93 ERA in 16 games at Triple-A Gwinnett before hitting the disabled list in late May. He appeared in a few rehab games with the GCL Braves but was sidelined the rest of the season. Lamm appeared in 35 games with the M-Braves in 2013, posting a record of 3-3 with 10 saves and a 2.56 ERA. He was also selected as a Southern League Mid-Season All-Star that season. Lamm was selected by the Braves in the sixth round of the 2011 draft out of Vanderbilt.

Mateo, 25, made one start for the M-Braves against Tennessee in the last series. He gave up two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while recording one strikeout. Mateo spent the last two seasons at Double-A Montgomery in the Rays system. In 2013, he went 7-9 with a 3.93 ERA while posting a record of 12-11 with a 3.90 ERA in 28 starts for the Biscuits last year. Mateo was signed by the Braves as a free agent on November 13, 2014.
