Montgomery Biscuits News Release
JACKSON, Tenn. - The Biscuits (60-64, 23-31) out-hit the Jackson Generals (54-63, 25-26) 8-2 but a costly error by the Biscuits helped the Generals to a 2-1 win and the Biscuits to a sixth-straight loss Friday night at Generals Park.
With the game tied at one, Leon Landry and Chris Taylor both reached to start the eighth inning. They were bunted to second and third. Braulio Lara (2-2) then struck out Julio Morban for the second out. Ramon Morla grounded one to third that was misplayed by Robi Estrada, allowing the go-ahead run to score.
Enny Romero finished the game with five walks, including a bases-loaded walk that allowed the Generals to tie the game at one in the second inning. Romero went six innings, struck out a season-high nine and only allowed one run on one hit for the no-decision.
The Biscuits got their only run of the game in the first inning. Shawn O'Malley singled, stole second and scored on a Mikie Mahtook single.
The series-finale is Saturday night at 6:05. RHP Marquis Fleming will start for the Biscuits while the Generals will send LHP Anthony Vasquez to the hill.
