Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp News Release

JACKSONVILLE - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's twinbill with the Birmingham Barons at Bragan Field.

Right-handed reliever Arquimedes Caminero has been promoted to the Major League Miami Marlins and will make his Big League debut upon his first appearance with the club.

In 42 appearances for the Suns this year, which at the time of his promotion ties him with closer Michael Brady for most on the team, Caminero accumulated a 5-2 record and 3.61 ERA (21 ER in 52.1 IP), adding five saves in seven opportunities.

The 26-year-old becomes the sixth Jacksonville Suns player this season to be promoted directly from Jacksonville to the Marlins after Marcell Ozuna (April 30), Derek Dietrich (May 8), Edgar Olmos (June 2), Jake Marisnick (July 23) and Christian Yelich (July 23). Caminero was signed by the Marlins as a non-drafted free agent on May 25, 2005, out of the Dominican Republic.

In addition, right-handed pitcher Robert Morey has been transferred to Jacksonville from Triple-A New Orleans. Prior to being transferred to New Orleans on August 4, the 24-year-old recorded a 4-7 mark and 4.83 ERA (54 ER in 100.2 IP) in 19 starts with Jacksonville. In three games (one start) for the Zephyrs, the Virginia native compiled a 1-0 record and 3.60 ERA (4 ER in 10.0 IP).

The Marlins also announced catcher J.T. Realmuto has been activated from the seven-day Disabled List after recovering from a right thumb fracture. Prior to being placed on the Disabled List, Realmuto hit for a .234 average (75-321) in 92 contests for the Suns, adding four homers and 30 RBI.
