CHATTANOOGA, TN - The Montgomery Biscuits (32-26) led 5-2 entering the eighth inning, got a tying homer in the ninth inning, but still succumbed to a walk-off 8-7 loss in the series opener against the Chattanooga Lookouts (16-42) on Tuesday night at AT&T Field.
Carson Williams smacked two homers, including a game-tying, two-run shot in the ninth inning. It was his third multi-homer game of the season.
The Lookouts ripped off five runs in the eighth to take a two-run lead entering the ninth, and Jose Torres singled to walk it off.
After three sacrifice flies from the two clubs, including one from Mason Auer, Chattanooga led 2-1 after three innings.
Ian Seymour shut down Chattanooga after the third. The left-hander retired the final 12 batters he faced and allowed two runs in six innings. Seymour has gone six innings or more in his last five starts.
Williams homered to the corner of left field to give Montgomery a 3-2 lead in the fifth. Chandler Simpson doubled in a run on his third hit of the night in the seventh, and Bob Seymour tacked on a sacrifice fly to make it 5-2 after seven innings.
The Lookouts stormed back in the eighth inning, scoring five runs before winning it in the ninth.
