
Birmingham Squadron Win Second Game of Back-To-Back

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Birmingham Squadron topped the Austin Spurs, 104-100, on Sunday afternoon at Legacy Arena at the BJCC, winning its first home contest of the season.
Birmingham was led by Kelan Martin's 25 points, including a deep three with 59.7 second left to ice the game for the Squadron. Riley LaChance scored a season-high 15 for Birmingham and shot 3-of-4 from deep, his most triples of the season thus far.
The Squadron led after every period of play but were outscored in the fourth quarter. Sunday's game marks the first time this season that the Squadron have won without outscoring its opponent in the fourth quarter.
Points in the paint were dominated by Birmingham, 58-46, and the game featured three lead changes and four ties, including at 96-96 with two minutes remaining in the contest.
Alize Johnson led Austin with a double-double, scoring 20 points and hauling in 13 rebounds. Chaundee Brown Jr. tossed in 23 for the visiting Spurs as well.
Birmingham returns to the hardwood on Tuesday for its second trip to Rio Grande Valley of the season. The game will be broadcasted locally in Birmingham on My68 WABM and nationally on NBAGLeague.com.
