Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Myrtle Beach Pelicans, Class A-Advanced affiliate of the Texas Rangers, stumbled for the third consecutive night Saturday, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Winston-Salem Dash in front of 4,190 at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark.
The game was won in the fourth inning, when three Dash singles plated a run off Pelicans starter Randy Henry. The hits came from Cyle Hankered, David Herbek and Ross Wilson. The second run scored on a passed ball in the ninth inning, allowing Miguel Gonzalez to traipse across the plate.
Henry pitched excellent in defeat. The righty tossed his fourth consecutive quality start. Henry went six innings, allowing one run on seven hits. Joe Van Meter went three innings allowing an unearned run.
Offensively the Pelicans mustered only three hits and have not scored in 20 innings, dating back to Thursday's 10-1 loss. Myrtle Beach did, however, muster a season high seven walks.
The Pelicans have their lone Sunday off-day of the season next, followed by a four game home series with the Wilmington Blue Rocks. Myrtle Beach last took two of three for the Blue Rocks just a week ago. For more information or to purchase tickets, call 843-918-6000 or visit MyrtleBeachPelicans.com.
