KODAK, TN - The Biloxi Shuckers (67-51, 26-23) were shutout by the Tennessee Smokies (59-59, 23-25) 5-0 on Sunday evening at Smokies Stadium.

Both starting pitchers didn't allow a hit through the first three frames. RHP Thomas Jankins (L, 9-8) issued a leadoff in the walk in the fourth, and Yasiel Balaguert drove in the first run of the game with a two-out double.

The Shuckers best scoring chance against RHP Duncan Robinson (W, 7-4) came in the sixth. Jankins shot an opposite-field single to right and Corey Ray followed with a pull-single to right. Both runners were left stranded, though, as Trent Grisham lined out to center and Troy Stokes Jr. struck out.

Tennessee added another run in the sixth on a solo homer by Ian Rice, his eighth of the season, to make it 2-0 Smokies. Jankins departed in the seventh after allowing a base runner. Charcer Burks delivered an RBI triple to score another run, and P.J. Higgins capped the scoring with a single.

RHP Zach Hedges (H, 1) tossed a scoreless frame for the Smokies, and LHP Wyatt Short (S, 2) hurled 1.2 innings without allowing a run to pick up his second save of the season.

Biloxi has a day off on Monday before starting a ten-day, eleven-game homestand on Tuesday night against the Mobile BayBears. The Shuckers will play a doubleheader, with first pitch of the first game at 5:30 PM. On Brew Crew Tuesday, fans can enjoy $3 Miller Lite and $4 brats.
