
BayBears Blow out Blue Wahoos with Season-High 18 Hits

MOBILE, Ala. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, scored 14 runs on a season-high 18 hits and pummeled the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 14-2 Saturday night at Hank Aaron Stadium.
Eight of the nine players in the BayBears (58-57 overall, 21-26 second half) starting lineup had multiple hits, and nine of the 18 hits were for extra bases. Jahmai Jones went 3-for-5 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Jo Adell also snapped an 0-for-9 skid with a pair of doubles, two RBIs, and a run scored.
Mitch Ghelfi, who matched his career-high with four RBIs Friday night, drove in three more with a single and a triple. He has seven RBIs in the past two games, after only having two in his first 20 Southern League games with Mobile and Biloxi.
Jason Alexander (1-5) earned his first Double-A win, giving up two runs on six hits in a five-inning start. Daniel Wright (6-8) took the loss for Pensacola (61-55, 31-17), as the BayBears tagged him for eight runs on 10 hits in 5 1/3 innings.
The BayBears wrap up the five-game home series against Pensacola Sunday at 5:05 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher Jesus Castillo (7-4, 4.77 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against righty Wyatt Strahan (6-9, 7.23 ERA) for the Blue Wahoos.
