Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard is pleased to announce that Atari Bigby, safety for the Green Bay Packers will serve as the honorary captain for the game this Friday, April 11th vs. the Manchester Wolves.
Bigby, who is in his third year with the Packers, came on strong in his first season as a starter with his explosive and game changing hits that helped lead the Packers to the NFC Championship Game. Bigby finished third on the team in tackles last season with 121 total tackles and was also named the NFL's Defensive Player of the Month for the month of December after recording 4 of his 5 interceptions in that month.
Bigby is not the first member of the Green Bay Packers to serve as honorary captain at a Blizzard game. Head Coach Mike McCarty, former running back and current coach Edgar Bennett, wide receiver Donald Driver, former defensive linemen Grady Jackson, former offensive linemen Grey Ruegamer, former safety Marquand Manuel, and former center and current WFRV personality Larry "The Rock" McCarren have all served as honorary captains.
This Friday will also feature the 3rd Annual Tug-O-War Challenge with 16 area high school football teams competing in a battle of strength and stamina. Two-time defending champion Oconto High School will be on hand to defend their crown. Tickets start for as little as $8 and are available by calling Ticketstar at (920) 494-3401
