AMARILLO, TEXAS April 12 is Faith & Family night with the Amarillo Dusters at the Amarillo Civic Center Arena and all are invited to join in on the fun. The Amarillo Dusters will be taking on the Austin Wranglers on Saturday.
Inspirational and motivational speaker, Keith Davis, will be at the game. Davis is a former college and professional football player. He graduated from the University of Southern California and went on to play with the New York Giants.
"We are excited to have Keith Davis with us this weekend," said Dusters vice president Joe Morgado. "He will be the honorary captain for this game and will be performing at halftime."
One of the key partners in Faith and Family night is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Gary Barton is the director of the Panhandle FCA, and oversees FCA huddle groups across the entire Texas panhandle.
"We partnered with the Dusters to help raise money for summer leadership camp scholarships for our FCA kids," Barton said. "We got a great spring event for our kids to attend at the same time!"
There is much more family fun in store for this Saturday at the Dusters game. The Weinerschnitzel Hot Dog Eating contest pits six fans from the stands against each other in a race to see who can eat the most hot dogs. Keep your car away from the car wash this week and you might win the Toot-N-Totum Dirtiest Car in the Lot contest.
No Dusters game would be complete without the Duster Dude. He is rough and tough and ready to get the job done against anybody that comes into town. Come to the Civic Center parking lot early for the Tailgate Party, sponsored by Coors.
"The Amarillo fans create a great home atmosphere," Morgado said. "A Dusters game is a perfect family outing with all of the activity on the field.
