
Big Wins for Biasca & Moravec on Day 1 at WJC

Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The two Mooseheads players participating in the 2023 World Junior Hockey Championship got off to roaring starts when the tournament opened on Boxing Day.
Attilio Biasca, the Captain of both the Swiss and the Moose, electrified the crowd in Moncton with an overtime winning goal to lead Switzerland to a 3-2 victory over heavily favoured Finland. Biasca led both teams with five shots on goal in the contest.
Defenceman David Moravec also played a large role as Czechia shocked Canada 5-2 at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax. Moravec scored a first period goal to give the Czechs a lead that they would never relinquish.
Switzerland and Czechia are back in action on Day #2 with the Swiss set to face Latvia at 5pm AST at the Avenir Centre while Moravec and Czechia take on Austria at 7:30 in Halifax. Both games can be seen on TSN.
