St. Joseph Blacksnakes News Release

St. Paul, MN-St. Paul (5-1) jumped on St. Joe (1-5) early by scoring in three of the first four innings, including a five-run third inning, and would cruise to a 7-2 victory over the 'Snakes. With the loss, St. Joe has dropped four straight and wraps up the road trip tomorrow night before playing at home Friday evening.

St. Paul's Adam Olow blooped a two-out single to score the first run against St. Joe's Evan Thomas in the bottom of the first. Then the Saints sent 10 men to the plate, and struck for five runs on five hits with two 'Snakes errors for a 6-0 lead.

The Saints added another in the fourth before St. Joe was able to get to St. Paul starter Mike Meyer in the sixth.

Ben Thomas doubled to lead off and was driven in on a Denver Kitch single.

In the eighth, the 'Snakes would try and rally, scoring a run on a Mark Burke single and having two on for slugger Wil Quintana. But he was called out on strikes to end the threat. Field Manager Chris Carminucci was ejected for arguing the called third strike.

Evan Thomas (0-1) took the loss for St. Joe allowing five earned runs in six innings while Meyer (1-1) earned the win pitching into the eighth for the Saints.

Cody Nowlin went 1-4 and has hit safely in each of St. Joe's six games while Jake Whitesides had a pair of hits.

St. Joe will try to salvage the series finale with St. Paul Thursday night at 7:05pm. Right-hander Jamie Tricoglou (1-0) will take the hill for the Blacksnakes, opposed by the Saints' Justin Lord (1-0). The broadcast begins at 6:45pm with the Heartland Health Pre-Game Show on www.stjoeblacksnakes.com.
