Orange County Flyers News Release

FULLERTON, Calif. (August 3, 2010) - The Orange County Flyers send former Major Leaguer Cha-Seung Baek to the mound against the Victoria Seals in the first game of a doubleheader beginning at 12:05pm. The Flyers look to bounce back after falling in the series opener to the Seals, snapping a season-high nine-game win streak. Baek, who spent four seasons in the Major Leagues, makes his second start for the Flyers after starting the 2010 season with the Yuma Scorpions.

Jake Renshaw will start Game 2 of the doubleheader for OC against three-year MLB veteran Jason Kershner. The second game will begin approximately 30 minutes after the end of the first game. The Flyers are 1-4 against the Seals this season and trail 4-7 in the all-time series. This series is being played Fullerton College, and admission is free to all fans with $2 parking behind the left field wall and free street parking.

LAST TIME OUT: The Flyers saw their nine-game win streak snapped by the Victoria Seals in a 6-3 loss at Fullerton College on Monday afternoon. The Seals jumped out to an early 2-0 lead against OC starter Kevin Altman, who took the loss allowing six runs (five earned) on eight hits while striking out four batters.

Victoria's Terrence McClain went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, and Brian Rios knocked a two-run homerun to lead the way for the visiting club. Seals starter Jino Gonzalez shut down the Flyers through the first five innings allowing only one hit in the win. He finished the game allowing one run on three hits while striking out seven.

The Flyers, down 6-1, tried to mount a ninth inning comeback when David Harris singled to begin the frame and Julian Benavidez crushed a no-doubter over the left field wall to pull the game to its 6-3 final score.
