(Central Islip, N.Y., May 15, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the York Revolution 14-8 on Wednesday night in the second game of a three-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.
The Ducks opened the scoring with an Adam Bailey two-run home run in the second inning off York starter Pedro Liriano. Ray Navarrete stretched the lead to three with a RBI double in the third inning. York stormed back though with 10 runs in the fourth inning on eight hits to take the lead for good. Home runs by Andy Marte and James Shanks keyed the rally. A Brian Burgamy two-run home run in the fifth extended the Revolution lead to 12-3.
Long Island answered back with four runs in the sixth inning to close the gap to five. Gabe Suarez and Dan Lyons had RBI singles, and P.J. Phillips drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. However, a Wilson Batista two-run homer in the eighth put the game out of reach.
John Brownell (1-3) took the loss for the Ducks, surrendering seven runs and 11 hits in three and one-third innings. York reliever Kris Regas (1-1) recorded the win despite allowing four runs on five hits in three innings of work. Liriano did not factor into the decision but yielded three runs on four hits in three innings.
Bailey led the Ducks with two runs batted in and joined Joash Brodin, Ralph Henriquez, Suarez and Lyons with two hits.
The Ducks and Revs wrap up their three-game set on Thursday night. Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive 2002 Atlantic League All-Star Game pins as part five of seven in the 2013 Collector's Series. Left-hander Matt Way starts for the Ducks opposing Revolution right-hander Corey Thurman.

Duck Tales: Ray Navarrete extended his team-high on-base streak to 11 games with a double. During the streak, he is batting .425 (17-for-40) with one homer, nine RBI and eight runs scored. During the streak, Navarrete has improved his batting average from .111 to .259 and his on-base percentage from .146 to .330...Adam Bailey posted his third multi-RBI game of the season and hit his second home run of the year. The Ducks have now gone deep 21 times as a team in 2013...Ralph Henriquez recorded his first multi-hit game of the season with two singles. Danny Perales leads the Ducks with nine multi-hit games in 2013.
