Spokane Chiefs News Release

Three first period power play goals, two by Drayson Bowman, lifted the Spokane Chiefs to a 5-1 win over the Chilliwack Bruins on Saturday night in the Spokane Arena. The win gave Spokane their 47th win of the year and 100 points for just the third time in franchise history.

Spokane reached that plateau for the first time since 1999-00 and is just four points off their all-time high of 104 set in 1995-96 when they won a franchise record 50 games.

Drayson Bowman also scored his 40th of the year, the first Chief to do that since Greg Leeb did it in 1997-98.

The 18-year-old gave the Chiefs a 1-0 lead at 1:12 of the first with a slapper from the right point and then assisted on Jared Spurgeon's 12th of the year at 11:28. Bowan then struck again using a Chris Bruton screen to score the milestone goal.

Judd Blackwater's deflection in front on a Mike Reddington shot with just three seconds remaining in the second period pushed Spokane's lead to 4-0 through 40-minutes.

Nick Holden scored Chilliwack's lone goal at 8:37 of the third with a power play goal from the slot.

Reddington's second goal of the season came on a wrist shot that picked the top corner at 11:02 and gave Spokane the final score.

The Chiefs outshot Chilliwack 31-14 and Kevin Armstrong earned his 19th win of the year.

Spokane will head to Seattle for a 5:00 date versus the Thunderbirds in their final match-up of the regular season on Sunday night. Mike Boyle will go on the air at 4:30 with Comcast Hockey Tonight.

The Chiefs lone regular season game will be Friday, March 14th when the Portland Winter Hawks visit the Arena on Coca-Cola's season finale.

Tickets for all home games are available by calling the Chiefs ticket office at (509) 535-PUCK.
